Some people enjoy jobs that include traveling a lot and meeting people. Others like to work in a faxed location with the same group of coworkers. What is your preference? Explain why.
Choosing between
a job where you can travel a lot and meet new people, or work in a faxed
location with the same group of people is a hotly-debated topic that often
divides opinion. The why of this might have several answers such as working in
a place that is not full of challenges and new experiences, at a certain point
can mean something comfortable and easy, but on the other hand this does not
allow you to leave your comfort zone. Nonetheless, my personal preference is a
job where you can travel and interact with new people, through this essay I
will explain the main reasons why.
First of all, it
is worth considering that 6 out of 10 people think that their job is a routine,
and as we know as the time passed a routine becomes something exhausting and
boring, it would be different if those people had a different job where a new
day means something new to learn.
Another point
worth noting is that living new experiences let us leave our comfort zone, one
example of this is that I have a friend who works at a restaurant, serving the
food to the people, and he was used to it until one time he was asked to be the
cashier, to his surprise, he did a great job, he did not know he was able to do
that until he tried, that is why we have to be willing to try new things, so
that we can discover new facets of our lives.
Last but not
least, I can argue that it is important to deal with new people every day, even
if it is difficult for us to share or understand their point of view, that will
allow us to become open-minded and tolerant to ideas we do not share, that will
sharpen our teamwork and leadership skills.
Taking everything
into consideration, there are many reasons why we should take the risk of
working in a place where we are able to live new experiences and meet new
people, since it will help us to discover many things we thought we were not
able to do, and it will allow us to strengthen and develop qualities that will
help us to reach opportunities that are usually limited for those who stay in
their comfort zone.
